Walks criteria
All routes should
Start at a railway station
Finish at a different railway station, or the same one
respect local codes and laws
As far as reasonably possible a route should:
be safe
be off road and avoid heavy traffic
have resting places to eat (or sleep, for longer routes)
be easy to navigate
be enjoyable, interesting and/or beautiful
use established routes (such as the Heart of Wales Trail or Settle to Carlisle Way), where appropriate.
avoid routes which are likely to be blocked or cause people to divert away from them.

Other considerations
We expect routes to be of varying length, and varying levels of difficulty, which we will aim to describe. Some will pass through towns or villages with services, such as cafes and bus stops. Others, passing through more remote areas will not.
You may create routes yourself, or you may submit them on behalf of an organisation. Where an organisation has already created a walk with a description, we would like to include a gpx file for that walk on our site, and then, with agreement, link it to the organisation's web page with the description.
