Llwynypia to Mountain Ash

The walk sets out climbing from Llwynypia in the Rhondda Fawr valley to the shrine at Penrhys. It then drops into the Rhondda Fach before climbing back up to Llanwonno. Here is an optional pub stop and a little church with grave and monument to the noted local runner Guto Nyth Bran. The route then follows forestry tracks into open countryside before descending steeply to Mountain Ash.
